Magician Samraj has become synonymous for the wonders and aesthetically appealing thrills involved with the art of magic, say numerous art lovers in different parts of the world, especially the Malayalees of Kerala, India.

Born and brought up in the beautiful lands of Kerala (Alappuzha Dist.) in 1956, globally acclaimed Magician Samraj has attained many laurels in his illustrious career - thanks to his relentless hard work, vision and above all, God-given talent and genius.

After completing civil engineering study, he went to the Middle East  and joined Dubai Overseas Ast.Co. first and then D.G Jones & Partners (both British firms), as a quantity surveyor (civil engineer).

His passion towards magic since childhood prompted him to practise magic while in the Gulf. He could fulfil his dream of becoming a magician while working there. Since then he did not look back and continues his relentless efforts to prove  his mettle. He came in contact with various magicians of Europe, the United States of America, Japan, Norway, Germany etc., which helped Mr.Samraj learn and practise the state-of-the-art developments in the field of magic.

 

In the last 30 years he has performed over 8,000 illusion shows, mostly on international stages. He has also the distinction of performing “Horror magic” for the first time in the history of magic. Overseas he is known as “THE INDIAN HOUDINI”, a name so earned for conducting shows involving great risk and incredible feats of Escape Acts. His profound inclination towards magic brought him to India in 1996, relinquishing his office after a two-decade spellbound performance in alien lands like the U. K., Germany, Thailand, Singapore, different parts of the Middle East etc. On reaching India, he gave a new dimension to his performance as a full-fledged Illusionist and Escapist and his dreams spread wings. Thus came the ‘SAMRAJ WORLD OF MAGIC’, a 30- member troupe. His unique style of performance backed by state-of-the-art techniques with the accompaniment of well-experienced troupe members, Mirascopic light effects, Stereophonic sound system, Live orchestra and Dramascopic stage effects, keeping with the changing trend of the present world, makes him a top ranking performer in the world of Magic, even in the global perspective. Pursuit of perfection and innovation prompts him to constant research and experiments to better the shows, adding new dimensions and novelty to programme after programme. In audience he has trust, in the applause he lives and in contentment he sleeps.
